Advanced Biology is an HONORS level course focusing on Human Anatomy and Physiology. The focus of the course is correlating the relationship of anatomical structures and their functions in the body. First Semester Units:
-Anatomical Orientation/ Vocabulary
-Tissues
-Skin
-Blood
-Brian/ Senses
-Skeletal
Advanced Biology will operate like a college level course. Students will be graded by assessments only! There are no points for homework. THERE ARE NO RETAKES!
Assessments may come in various forms. They could be oral, written, lab practical, online, or lab-based. If your absence is unexcused (A) and we have an assessment that day, you WILL NOT be able to make up that assessment.
You will be required to create an online portfolio. This portfolio will count up to 100 points and will act as your practical review as well as your final exam review. It is your responsibility to complete your own work with pride and diligence. The online portfolios will be graded by a rubric handed out in class.
Students will be expected to learn and comprehend the material and concepts presented in class. Each day in class is very important so absences and tardies will result in students falling behind with the material.
